1. MAKE A GREAT IMPRESSION.  Every interaction sets the tone and creates an impression. Pay attention to every exchange and be sure you’re friendly, engaging, and helpful.

2. STAY TRUE TO YOUR WORD.  We all have good intentions but we must follow through on our commitments. If a commitment can’t be fulfilled, notify others early and agree on a new deliverable to be honored.

3. STAY CONNECTED.  Respond to questions, concerns and requests promptly and professionally; whether it’s in person, on the phone or by email. Be sure to keep those involved continuously updated on the status.

4. HAVE EACH OTHERS’ BACK. Be willing to step into another role or help a colleague when that’s what is required for success. We win together.

5. SHARE WHAT YOU KNOW.  With appropriate respect for confidentiality, share information and knowledge throughout our organization. Always remember to ask yourself, “Who else needs to know?”

6. SHOUT IT OUT.  Regularly extend meaningful acknowledgement and appreciation – in all directions throughout the organization.

7. LISTEN UP.  Give others your undivided attention. Be present and engaged, be curious to know more. Listen to understand.

8. COMMUNICATE TO BE UNDERSTOOD.  Know your audience. Write and speak in a way that they can understand. Avoid using internal lingo, acronyms, and industry jargon. Simplicity is best.

9. EMBRACE CHANGE.  What got us here is not the same as what will get us there. Be the change you want to see.

10. MODEL THE WAY.  The best way to influence others is through your own example. Coach, guide, teach, and mentor others. Be the example for others to follow.

11. OWN YOUR DEVELOPMENT.  Be a lifelong learner. Seek out and take advantage of every opportunity to gain more knowledge and to advance your skills. Be resourceful about learning and utilizing best practices.

12. ASSUME POSITIVE INTENT.  Work from the assumption that people’s intentions are positive. Give people the benefit of the doubt.

13. LET’S GET CLEAR ON EXPECTATIONS. Create clarity and avoid misunderstandings by discussing expectations upfront. Be willing to raise issues or ask questions.

14. …PAUSE.  While we always want to work with a sense of urgency sometimes we need to slow down before we speed up, to get things right. Don’t just react. Make well-informed decisions and produce better outcomes.

15. IT’S IN THE DETAILS.  Missing just one detail can have a significant impact on the experience. Be accurate and be precise. The goal is to get things right, not simply to get them done.

16. IT’S ALL ABOUT THE SOLUTION. Rather than pointing fingers, stay focused on solving the issue. Identify lessons learned and use those lessons to improve ourselves and our processes so we don’t make the same mistake twice. If you make a mistake, own up to it, apologize and make it right.

17. KNOW YOUR NEXT MOVE.  Anticipate future issues, plan for contingencies and address them in advance. Preventing issues is always better than fixing them.

18. DELIVER RESULTS.  While every effort is important, we need results. Follow up, set high standards, measure your progress and hold yourself accountable.

19. PRACTICE EMPATHY. Understand others’ perspectives. Know their challenges, frustrations, and see the situation from their point of view. The better you understand them, the more effectively you can partner together.

20. TIME IS VALUABLE, LET’S NOT WASTE IT. Be on time, be prepared and make the most of it.

21. THINK POSSIBILITY.  We live in a world filled with opportunity. Spend time to determine how we can vs. why we cannot.

22. NEVER STOP IMPROVING.  Regularly evaluate your work to find ways to improve. Don’t be satisfied with the status quo. Consistently deliver your best.
